Tonight at 7 PM I’m going live to talk about severe thunderstorms and how they come to life. We’re going to walk through the ingredients that make storms do their thing, but in a way that does not require a meteorology degree or a strong cup of coffee. This will be about 30 minutes of weather without the headache.
We’re also using April 27, 2011 as our textbook example. If there were ever a day that made meteorologists sit up straight in their chairs, that was the one. There is a lot we can learn from it, and thankfully we can do that part from the comfort of our couches.
Also, this is happening at 7 PM, which is well before my normal “kids are asleep and the house is quiet” broadcast window. So if you hear background noise, unexpected commentary, or someone asking for a snack like it is a five alarm emergency, just know that is part of the experience.
