Here is the evening news report from Election Night 1968. This was the last time Huntley Brinkley anchored a Presidential Election, they anchored every election of the decade during the 1960's, and possibly the 1956 election as well, but I have no past evidence to prove it. The two were greats at what they did, but I think by this point they did not get along as good as they did in 1960. Huntley would leave two years later and the Brinkley became the editorial man of the NBC Nightly News, with John Chancellor.
The studio has improved greatly since the 1960 coverage, with each state getting it's own board plus the ablity to project a state by their computers. There coverage is way faster than the CBS coverage I also have. I have not seen the ABC coverage as of yet, but it looks simple compared to the other two. I will do dual uploads of the coverage of CBS and NBC until about 11:00, when the Vanderbuilt Coverage ends and the NBC coverage continues. You will all see when I get there. Enjoy this clip first!
