Former MP V. Sathyabama has been expelled from the AIADMK for alleged anti-party activities, following her support for expelled senior leader K A Sengottaiyan in his renewed call for AIADMK reunification.
According to party sources, AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami announced the expulsion of 14 members, including Sathyabama, from the party’s primary membership on Friday.
The decision came soon after Sengottaiyan’s meeting with other ousted leaders — O. Panneerselvam (OPS), V. K. Sasikala, and T. T. V. Dhinakaran — where he issued an ultimatum to the party leadership to re-induct expelled members in a bid to restore unity within the AIADMK.
