The Geography of Central Asia in the Bhagavat Purana - Part 1

In this three-part series, I summarise the points made in Chapter 5 of Dr Richard L Thompson’s book “Mysteries of the Sacred Universe – The Cosmology of the Bhagavat Purana”. The chapter, entitled The Earth and Local Geography, argues that the ancient Puranas reveal evidence that the geography of central Asia and India was well-known. Yet their approach to geography was quite different to the modern. They saw it from both a physical and non-physical perspective.

This particular video focuses on the comparison between the mountains of Jambhudvip and the mountains across Central Asia.
