Baptism is the clear, public line in the sand. It is not a performance and it is not a graduation. It is a burial and a beginning. In baptism, the old life is laid down, and a new life is raised with Christ. We do not go into the water because we are strong, but because Jesus is faithful. We do not come out perfect, but committed. Baptism says plainly and honestly: I belong to Christ, I trust His cross, and I will walk in obedience by His grace.
