Connect your phone to your Honda Civic gen 9 with HDMI or Firestick. EASY WAY!

2 EASY WAYS TO CONNECT:
A) HDMI to USB C
B) Amazon Firestick

My car is a Honda civic gen 9 SE PLUS 2015 hatchback. I have CMRDRIOD installed. But I believe it should work with your original updated head unit.

Make sure your HDMI cable supports DP Alt mode, so you don't buy a HDMI to USB C that wouldn't display your phone to the output device.

1. When you connect your phone, make sure the power charging is changed to File Transfer/Andriod Auto, if it can.
2. Go to HDMI under Audio, and make sure it displays.
3. Go to main menu on your head unit. Then hold down BRIGHTNESS+MENU for 1 second, while holding, press and also hold down POWER/ON button. So you hold all 3 buttons together for 5 seconds to access the Hidden Menu.
4. Select the 2nd menu. Then press and hold the Menu button for 7 seconds to enter the next hidden menu.
5. Scroll down and look for VSA, then turn it off!

Now you can drive while your phone is connected to your head unit.


To connect with your AMAZON FIRESTICK.
1) Make sure it can connect to the hdmi port of your car and don't damage your car or the device. If it doesn't fit softly. Buy a hdmi adjustable angled adapter from alixpress or amazon, it allows you to easily connect your firestick to your car's hdmi port.
2) power up the firestick with usb.
3) go to HDMI display under your audio in your car head unit
4) on the amazon home screen, hold the HOME button for 3 seconds to access quick menu and go to mirroring. Make sure your phone supports mirroring.
5) repeat the same process. Go to main menu on your head unit. Then hold down BRIGHTNESS+MENU for 1 second, while holding, press and also hold down POWER/ON button. So you hold all 3 buttons together for 5 seconds to access the Hidden Menu.
Select the 2nd menu. Then press and hold the Menu button for 7 seconds to enter the next hidden menu. Scroll down and look for VSA, then turn it off!
