The Adani Group stocks took a beating after SEBI released a consultation paper, seeking enhanced transparency measures for foreign portfolio investors on the back of the recent Adani-Hindenburg case. FPIs with more than 50% of equity assets under management in a single group will now have to make additional disclosures. The objective behind this consultation paper is to safeguard investors against possible misuse of the FPI route.
