Nationals Senator Bridget McKenzie is not ruling out resigning after the Coalition was split in voting over the Albanese government’s hate laws.
Under party rules, shadow cabinet ministers who vote against shadow cabinet decisions need to quit or face being sacked.
Ms McKenzie was one of three shadow ministers to cross the floor.
Speaking exclusively to Sky News, the Senator says the laws are not strong enough.
“I’m very aware of the conventions of parliament, and I will be doing what I’ve always done is trying to do my very best to conduct my career here with integrity,” Ms McKenzie said.
