The CCM Idea Lab is a collaborative cross disciplinary course involving students and faculty from throughout UC's College-Conservatory of Music. The lab creates short projects exploring technical, artistic and philosophical questions.
In this CCM Idea Lab video, the Martini Quintet—comprised of Michael Martin (vocals), Elijah Woodward (saxophone), Austin Benga (bass), Brendan Gage (piano) and Aidan Schram (drums)—performs Arthur Johnston's 1936 pop song "Pennies From Heaven," as originally performed by Louis Prima, Keely Smith, Sam Butera and the Witnesses.
This performance was recorded on Oct. 28, 2025, in CCM's Cohen Family Studio Theater.
