Ficus Microcarpa Bonsai - light pruning and repotting || Ficus Green Island

Описание: Another bonsai pruning and repotting video
This time its a Ficus Microcarpa which is also known as Chinese banyan or Malayan banyan.
This tree which is a twin trunk style bonsai is about ten years old and has developed nice aerial roots. I did a light pruning and repotting using my bonsai soil mix

I chose a small shallow ceramic pot for the repotting which actually looked quite nice with the tree in it.
However a couple days later I realised that the soil was drying up too fast after watering due to the small size of the pot. I felt this could affect the health of the root system and tree.
Also summers can be quite harsh here and my mother usually has a difficult time coping up with the watering when I am not around.
So I decided to to replace the white ceramic pot with a larger shallow earthen pot which doesn’t look too bad in my opinion.
