The Best Documentary Short went to a movie about the war in Syria. It's about a group of volunteers known as the White Helmets who've saved thousands of civilians, often dying themselves in the process.
Raed Al Saleh was set to travel to LA for the ceremony but after a series of air strikes in Idlib, he decided to return to work instead. And Khaled Khatib, one of the Syrian cinematographers of the film, was barred from entering the US because of problems with his documents. He joins us in studio.
