The Kimbell Art Museum has just been named the top free attraction in Texas, according to a new analysis of Tripadvisor ratings. The study reviewed more than six thousand free attractions across the country, and the Kimbell earned the number one spot statewide with an average rating of four point seven seven stars.
Opened in 1972, the museum was designed by renowned architect Louis I. Kahn and is widely praised not only for its art collection, but for the building itself. In fact, Mark Lamster of The Dallas Morning News once called it arguably the greatest modern building in the United States.
