The rotator cuff is made of four individual muscles including the supraspinatus, infraspinatus, subscapularis and teres minor. Rotator cuff tears is a common injury and it can occur due to direct trauma such as a fall but can also occur as the result of degenerative changes surrounding the shoulder.
