It is currently one of my favorite kayaks, it is a mean fishing machine that it is fast, stable and light enough full of useful features

Pros

Speed 5 out 5

This boat is fast! You can hit 6mph on it, yeah you won’t be able to sustain that for long, but you could easily maintain cruising speeds at 4 miles per hours without much effort, I have covered a lot of distance on this boat and I didn’t feel it at all.

Stability 4.5 of of 5

Although it may feel a little teepee, like it is going to topple, it won’t the second stability is off the hook, it just stops the boat before it is going to flip, you can easily stand up and fish, even walk over it if you move fast enough.

Rigability 5 out of 5

Having H-tracks with H rails in the front of the boat and two h-tracks on the rear makes this boat a rigging dream, you can add you railblaza track or rail accessories easy without having to drill anything. The outback also has a giant tankwell capable of holding a decent size culler, milk crate of blackpak, I often have my Yak Gear create a crate setup and my cooler bag together in the tankwell, still reachable, still with space left



Ease of adding Motor or Powerpole 5 out of 5

Since the 19 Outback is equipped with the ¼ 20 inserts you can easily add a powerpole which could be a life saver sometimes, and or a motor using one of Easy Mount USA adapters (use promo quote aliex to save $20)

More comfort

Compared to previous version the CTW seat is wider and more comfortable on the 2019 Outback, standing up and fish is easier to do, and you have a lot more useful space

Fast turning rudder

Fishability

You can just grab this yak, your rods and tackle box and just go, you don’t have to add anything to it, comes with paddle, pedal drive, 4 molded in rod holders, ready to go fishing. When you do take it out you will be surprise with the speed, stability and ability to catch fish, everything is close to you even the cup holder and rudder control which you have two of them. Reverse on the mirage drive can be a hustle getting used to it but it is very, very useful to maintain position, get out of tough spots, or simple wake up lol



Other important features

Large front hatch with access to hull storage for rods, fish bags, kayak karts etc.

Large rectangular hatch with liner and bottle opener with access to inside the hull and nice place to put your tackle

Dual rudder control, very important when fighting fish



Not so good

Price, this boat is about over $200 more expensive than the older one

There are issues with the front hat seal, letting water in it can be fix with aftermarket products

Rudder design makes it hard to drag the yak (which may be a good thing lol)
