Hey, everybody. Welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the etrailer J-style kayak carrier, here today on our 2022 Hyundai Palisade. Now it's gonna be a nice little way of going ahead and giving yourself a decent way of carrying your kayaks to wherever your destination might be taking you. With 150 pounds of weight capacity, I don't think we're going to have any trouble getting our kayaks, and maybe even your stand up paddle boards, up in here. Now, personally, this is going to do a way better job of carrying your kayaks, if you really do want to start carrying those standup paddle boards, saddle style just tends to be a little bit better.

They sit in it better, and you're not going to be acting like a big old sail sitting on your vehicles. So, saddle style definitely gonna be your more, better way of getting those standup paddle boards. But then this guy is going to be great if you want to get your kayaks to where you want to go. One thing I really like about it, you're getting lines, a lot of straps here with it. So, you have these middle straps here and you have balanced stern straps.

That's going to be awesome, cause it's going to make it really easy to go ahead, tighten this guy down, make sure that it's nice and secure on our carrier and get to our destination with no trouble at all. It is gonna be lightweight too. So the carrier itself, very easy to get up on there. One thing that's nice about it, not going to be too much of a pain to actually get it installed, and we'll kind of break that down later. One thing that's cool too, guys, the J-style, it doesn't take too much room on your vehicle.

Now, it might be hard to see here, but you do have about three quarters, of your entirety of your vehicle is still open here. So that can be great. Of course, you can mount a couple of different things up on there. Bike racks are going to be a great option for yourselves, maybe some cargo baskets. The Yakima SkinnyWarrior always comes to mind.

If you're really worried about managing the space on your roof, that can be a nice kind of combo with these kayak carriers. That way you do have a little room for cargo. The Palisade doesn't have that third seat row, which is nice, but if that is up and in the way, not gonna have a lot of room for cargo. So, that can be a nice little thing, like that, we actually have some room on the side, not taking up the entirety of it for ourselves. Now the one thing I will say, the Palisade is a little taller. So, I'm about 6'1". And I did have, not too hard of a time actually getting up on there. Now I have been doing it just a few, many times here. So I'm a little bit more used to it. I could maybe see people having some issues getting your kayak up on there. Now there's a lot of different ways. One thing I like about the Palisade, of course, you do have these nice little standing points here. You even have that little corner there, which becomes really nice. Now that's a little hard to do when you have a kayak on you too. Right So, for holding that kayak, we might be able to get that one foot up on here and then get it up into position. So, if you are struggling with height, that can be a good way to go on about it. And another thing is too, we do have a Moki door step that's available here at etrailer.com. We'll show that off a little bit later in the video for you guys, but that can be a decent little way of giving you a step up above the rest if you need it too. Here we are in the back of our vehicle, taking a look at our stern straps. So, we do have this extra thing, and one thing I liked about these straps, and we'll kind of break them down a little later, too, especially when we look at our main housing, these guys are awesome. The fabric themselves is going to be holding up. I really like these holders, they sit really easy to get all this access, and that way we don't have it flop around, cause us any issues and we can go ahead and tie it off, which is awesome. Then we simply want to go ahead and push our cam buckle up. Now with these guys as well, you get this nice little felt covering here. It blocks that cam buckle as well, which becomes great. A, it's going to keep this looking nice for the years to come, protect a little bit from the elements. B, it's going to be great to keep between you and your vehicle, off course. And, if accidents
