The Rauwolfia Vomitoria tree is native to Central and East Africa. It has multiple valuable medicinal purposes. The tree species is fast becoming endangered due to unsustainable harvesting and exploitation of bark, roots, leaves, and seeds for medicinal purposes. This has affected its natural regeneration in many places. There are no known initiatives to cultivate and
protect the tree in Malawi and the world, where it has become very hard to find. CSE's Nkhalango Forest Haven has embarked on a research in cultivation of the RV tree. The cultivation of the Rauwolfia Vomitoria in agroforestry systems will ensure conservation of this valuable tree and ensure its availability for medical use and support of many lives.
