Artist and filmmaker Matthew Barney joins Hayward Gallery curator Cliff Lauson for a virtual conversation about his exhibition Redoubt. ‘Matthew Barney: Redoubt’ is the artist’s first solo museum presentation in the UK in over a decade and was featured at Hayward Gallery from 19 May until 25 July 2021.
Matthew Barney is an American filmmaker and contemporary artist. Born in San Francisco, he frequently visited his mother in New York City following her divorce from his father. It was here that Barney was first introduced to the art scene and began to create his own works of art while studying at Yale University.
