Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of BMW X2 2022

Описание: The BMW X2 is a partner model to X1 and their structure is practically identical. Euro NCAP compared both vehicles to verify that the BMW X1 results could be applied to X2 and performed additional tests where necessary. The footage includes videos of the BMW X1 2022 and additional X2 2024 tests.

Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
▶ a frontal impact test where 50% of the width of the car strikes an oncoming deformable barrier, travelling at 50 km/h
▶ a frontal impact test where the car impacts a full-width rigid barrier
▶ a side impact test where a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door
▶ a pole test where the car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole and the robustness of the centre airbag is evaluated
▶ a whiplash test performed on a sled.

A series of pedestrian tests are also conducted with different impactors: adult and child head form, and lower and upper leg form. As well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests. In 2023, a test scenario for Cyclist Dooring Prevention was introduced.

Active safety is rated based on the performance of the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car and car-to-motorcycle scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders, fatigue, distraction, and impairment), lane support, and speed assistance technologies.
