Pakistan’s first motorway, the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M2), is truly a remarkable feat of engineering. One of the most captivating sections of the motorway is near the Salt Mountain range, especially around Kallar Kahar. The slopes of the Salt Mountains are a sight to behold, attracting visitors year-round with it stunning beauty. However, this stretch, which spans about 10 kilometers, is also known for being quite hazardous. Fatal accidents are not uncommon here due to the winding roads and sharp inclines, which is why the maximum speed limit is set at just 40 kilometers per hour for safety reasons.
