Taken from the 2023 EP "Ever Rest" is a three-track, 15 minute work of art by ohrr, marking another interesting evolution in the artist's sound. Released on our very own label RZRecords, this instrumental release masterfully blends #postmetal #darkambient and #soundmanipulation into a cohesive and haunting experience.
Despite its minimalistic and partially #acoustic nature, the EP maintains a powerfully doomy, gloomy, and heavy atmosphere. ohrr forgoes the dense aggression of traditional metal in favour of a heavy feeling achieved through a palpable sense of emptiness and emotional weight. This is created by sustained sounds and intricate aural textures that convey a sense of foreboding and vast solitude.
This EP follows several singles ohrr released in 2023, but while those were more of a noisy ambient, IDM like takes on electronic music, this release channels artists such as Jodis, Sumac, Neurosis, Tribes of Neurot or at times even Tool, in composition and concept.
