The symbol of the labrys or double headed axe still remains a mystery although many have come to believe that it is a symbol of Minoan female deities or possibly a singular female earth goddess. The labrys, its philological relationship to the word labyrinth and Greek mythology, as well as its possible association with the Greek Goddess Demeter are still hotly debated. In this video we will explore the intersection of religious symbolism or the labrys, Minoan and Mycenaean influence and Greek myth.
