We're talking with Academy Award-nominated writer/director/racanteur Billy Ray!
Mr. Ray takes us through his entire career, from assistant to producer/showrunner. He gives not only great advice, but inspiration for aspiring writers everywhere. And, of course, we discuss COVID, because how could we not?
Billy Ray's feature writing credits include Overlord, The Hunger Games, Captain Phillips, for which he earned an Academy Award nomination. He also wrote and directed Breach, Shattered Glass, and Secret in their Eyes.
Over in TV, Billy created The Last Tycoon (a very underrated show, in my estimation). He wrote and directed every episode of the upcoming limited series A Higher Loyalty, based on the book by James Comey.
In addition to his impressive credits, Billy is also just a very interesting guy. He always tells interesting stories, and has cares a lot about guiding the next generation. As his upcoming TV show might imply, he's also very politically active, involved in fundraising and even writing stump speeches for candidates.
