This week, we had a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at how Deck Chair Gin is made, spent some time down at the boat, and enjoyed a few simple home days, too. From baking Viennese Whirls (with plenty of mess!) to comfort food favourites and a big flat clean, it’s been a mix of little adventures and everyday life.


A Slow Weekend & A Missing Wallet | Weekend Vlog | Sat 23rd & Sun 24th August (2025)
After a couple of busy weeks, we decided to take it easy this weekend. We pottered around the flat, ran to the supermarket for some essentials, baked, and even caught up on a bit of ironing. On Saturday evening, we went on the hunt for Glenn’s missing wallet, which turned up at the boat! With it safely found, we couldn’t resist sitting in the marina, soaking up the late afternoon sunshine.


Walking to Ashprington & A Delicious Salad | Daily Vlog | Mon 25th August (2025)
While Glenn worked at the marina, I laced up my shoes and went for a walk, the farthest I had managed in quite a while. The route from Totnes to Ashprington was absolutely stunning, with beautiful views across the River Dart. Back home, I made a chicken and bacon salad with a honey and mustard dressing for dinner. It was so good!

Glenn’s First Bob the Bus Shift & Back to Work Struggles | Daily Vlog | Tues 26th August (2025)
Glenn did his very first volunteer shift on Bob the Bus today—and he got on really well! Meanwhile, I was back at work after two weeks off… and it was a bit of a struggle getting back into the swing of things. After work, we walked over to the Restore Centre to see if they had any travel cots—I’m in need of two ready for the twins’ visit next week.


Behind the Scenes at Deck Chair Gin | Daily Vlog | Wed 27th August (2025)
Glenn’s friend Andy gave us a behind-the-scenes look at how he makes Deck Chair Gin. The process is far more complicated than I ever imagined, with meticulous care and detail in every step. We even got to have a taste—and it was absolutely delicious!


Gin Making & Boat Tinkering | Daily Vlog | Thurs 28th August (2025)
We headed back to see Andy at Deck Chair Gin today and watched the next stage of the gin-making process—it’s fascinating to see it all come together. Afterwards, we made our way down to the boat, where Glenn spent some time tinkering with the engine.


Flat Clean, Baking & Chicken Pie | Daily Vlog | Fri 29th August (2025)
I started the day with a big flat clean—it felt good to get everything fresh and tidy again. Then I made some Viennese Whirls (and managed to make a big mess in the kitchen in the process!). Glenn caught up with a friend, and for dinner I made one of our favourites: chicken and leek pie with a creamy sauce. Comfort food at its best.
