Karakol, a form of thanksgiving prayer done in dance in honor of a church Patron. Though it has been popular among the towns around the Manila Bay as a fluvial procession. The oldest recorded, so far, was in 1885, a brief article from a Spanish language newspaper, La Oceania mentioning Caracol in Cavite el Viejo (Kawit) - La Oceania Española: Año IX Número 15 _ 20/01/1885; and Caracol ng Santo Niño de Tondo - Diario de Manila: Año XXXVII Número 14 _ 18/01/1885.
