The final video in repairing a viewers BenQ W1070 that was hit by a power surge via an HDMI port. It originally seemed like a color wheel error.
However after deep troubleshooting and measuring voltages, I found a bad HDMI chip (ADV7612BSWZ). After installing the HDMI Chip, I found some bad parts in the HDMI 2 channel.
I referred to the schematic and was unable to determine one of the chips but decided to try it without the chip. It worked! I suspect the chip is for HDCP compliance but I am not sure. I am sure however that the input works with most video devices. Also the HDMI 1 channel is fully functional with its own unidentified IC.
