How to Install a Dog-G8 Front Door Gate (Recessed Configuration)
In this video, Peter demonstrates how to install a Dog-G8 front door gate in a recessed configuration, a popular setup in many UK homes. The process is simple, effective, and easy to follow.
Installation Overview:
Mount the first bracket to the leading edge (corner) of the recess—usually around 25cm back from the door to allow the front door to open freely when the gate is not in use. Peter installs this into a plasterboard surface using appropriate fixings.
For uPVC or composite front doors, simply position the front door bracket—no screws required.
The height of the brackets from the floor is set by the gate’s hooks—approximately 30cm.
Once both brackets are in place, just hook in the gate to create a secure barrier whenever you open the door.
