Tonight’s tale, Thalia’s Jar of Fallen Stars, is a gentle, whimsical story about generosity, patience, helping others, and discovering that the most wonderful wishes are often the ones we make for somebody else.

Nine-year-old Thalia loves sitting on her bedroom windowsill at night, watching the warm lights in the neighbouring houses slowly disappear as everyone settles down to sleep. With Bella beside her and a little hedgehog wandering through the garden below, Thalia gazes up at the starry sky and makes a wish on the brightest star she can see.
But moments later, something extraordinary happens.

With a series of mysterious popping sounds, six tiny stars burst from the sky and tumble down onto the pavement outside Thalia’s house. Worried that somebody might accidentally step on them, Thalia carefully gathers the shimmering stars into an empty glass jar and places them safely on her windowsill, where their soft glow becomes the most magical nightlight imaginable.

The following morning, Thalia’s clever older brother Magnus reveals that fallen stars possess powerful wishing magic. When Magnus wishes for a green bicycle with orange handlebars and a black seat, his dream bike magically appears on the front lawn. Thalia soon realises that every wish made upon one of the fallen stars sends it safely back into the night sky.

With five stars remaining, Thalia begins searching for kind and thoughtful wishes to make. She creates a cosy wooden house for the hedgehog living in her garden, helps a hungry man who has forgotten his wallet, repairs a little girl’s precious silver balloon, and gives her hardworking parents the family holiday they have always dreamed of.

Although Thalia could wish for new clothes, perfect grades, or extraordinary talents, she decides that some things are more rewarding when they are earned through patience and hard work. Instead, she uses the stars to bring comfort, happiness, and hope to the people and animals around her.

When only one fallen star remains, Magnus reminds Thalia that she has not used a single wish for herself. But Thalia already feels lucky and content. Then she realises that Bella has been beside her throughout the entire adventure and deserves a wish of her own.

Thalia offers the final star to her beloved cat, and Bella makes a wonderfully surprising wish that changes their friendship forever.

This gentle bedtime story is a warm celebration of kindness, selflessness, family, and the quiet magic of helping others. With twinkling stars, glittery sneezes, a cosy hedgehog house, wishes coming true, and one very clever talking cat, Thalia’s Jar of Fallen Stars is a soothing tale to drift off with beneath a peaceful night sky. 🌟
