MANIAC - Tape

Описание: I got a new Maniac tape in the mail. I was told this one explicitly doesn't have a title so I've chosen to just call it "Tape", for the sake of labeling it with *something*.

If your only exposure to Maniac is the self-titled release I uploaded four years ago (   • MANIAC - Self-Titled  ), you gotta know going into this that this isn't going to be the Maniac you remember. Zakk, the maestro behind these songs, moved cross-country some time ago and has seemingly taken the reins on this project. "Tape" is a much slower, more meditative experience than Maniac's preceding works. Hypnotic, even. Less bipolar in its album structure than before. Expect to submerse yourself into a sea of shimmering guitars and hushed murmurs for the duration of its runtime, lightly propelled with a prom-like groove that's built to mesmerize. The last song is a real treat too, if you're hoping to hear more of those "classic" Maniac howls. While the future is uncertain for this project, "Tape" is a lovely little curiosity that satiates my cravings for more of Maniac's unique brand of melancholic ambiance.
