The 2025 BYD Tang DM-i is a spacious 7-seater plug-in hybrid SUV that showcases BYD’s fifth-generation Dual Mode (DM) hybrid technology, blending efficiency with practicality. It pairs a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 115 kW (156 hp) and 225 Nm of torque with a permanent magnet synchronous motor generating 200 kW (272 hp) and 315 Nm of torque. Together, this setup provides responsive power delivery through an E-CVT transmission and front-wheel drive configuration, enabling smooth and efficient driving. The SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds in its 175 km range model, making it versatile for both city commutes and long journeys.

Equipped with BYD’s advanced Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Blade Battery, the Tang DM-i offers pure electric driving ranges of up to 175 km (CLTC) depending on the variant, with other versions providing around 115 km. The comprehensive driving range extends to about 1,240 km, ensuring excellent endurance for family or travel use. Thanks to fast-charging capability, the battery can be charged from 30% to 80% in only 20 minutes, adding convenience for daily usage. Measuring 4,870 mm in length, 1,950 mm in width, and 1,725 mm in height, with a 2,820 mm wheelbase, the Tang DM-i provides ample cabin space. Cargo capacity ranges from 235 liters with all seats in place to 1,655 liters when the rear seats are folded, making it practical for varying needs.

Inside, the Tang DM-i emphasizes technology, comfort, and safety. The cabin features BYD’s DiLink 100 intelligent cockpit, highlighted by a 15.6-inch rotatable touchscreen, 5G connectivity, and an augmented reality heads-up display. Higher trims can be equipped with the LiDAR-powered DiPilot 300 driver assistance suite, offering highway and city NOA (navigation-on-autopilot). Comfort features include heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, and customizable 31-color ambient lighting, while premium audio comes courtesy of an optional Dynaudio system. With independent suspension, FSD variable damping, and the DiSus-C intelligent damping system, the Tang DM-i balances ride comfort and driving stability, positioning itself as a modern, family-friendly hybrid SUV with advanced connectivity and refined luxury.
