This video offers an alternative method of marking the heel location of a peasant heel (aka "afterthought heel" or "forethought heel"), which allows you to try on the sock after the waste yarn has been placed, and provides an easier way to capture the sts prior to removing the waste yarn when it's time to knit the heel.
