H+H - Slow and Deep Touring through Herning and Hannover

Описание: H+H - short for Hannover + Herning - is a pilot project aiming to make touring more sustainable.
Two bands, two countries and much to explore by train.

Studies and reports show that traditional touring can pose challenges to musicians – these include stress, fatigue, lack of time for creativity, lack of contact with the audiences and a high environmental impact.
In contrast, slow touring and deep touring as joint concept allow musicians to explore a city or area more thoroughly, have more time to compose and rehearse music, and provide more authentic and in-depth experiences with local communities.

Slow Touring is "travel time as creative time". This means that the journey time when using a slower means of transportation, such as boat or train, is continuous time that you can use actively to be innovative, e.g., to compose new music or work creatively in other ways. Consecutive time that you do not have when you sit in an airport or on a plane for a few hours at a time.

Deep Touring is about creating a deeper impression at the place you arrive when you travel: "Making every mile count" and "leaving as much positive behind as possible" are the mottos. It's NOT about just arriving, playing a concert and traveling again, but about spending a good amount of time where you are located - hereby better justifying why you're traveling at all to begin with. Meaning, if you're going to travel, then you also have to actively work at giving more than you get, understood in the sense that you give to the local community where you’ve travelled to by entering into social relations, facilitating workshops, working with local choirs or other groupings, such as migrants or homeless people. In other words, creating a deeper imprint where needed.
