HUGE FISH KILL UPDATE AT HARDWICK ESTATE LAKE….

Описание: Back to Hardwick today to update you all on the fish death situation and there’s definitely a difference. Upon arrival the smell of decomposing fish was no more and a vast effort to oxygenate the lake was in process. The National Trust are waterside with a generator running, a boat on standby and are keeping watch over the lake for any changes.

The EA have established they are happy there’s no poisoning or pollution in the water and just like most of you guys in the comments they agree it’s down to a drop in water, a rise in weed growth and this heatwave that’s caused the oxygen starvation of the fish.

Not an ideal outcome but let’s not forget the estate has people waterside throughout the day keeping watch.

Is it any good?? Of course not, especially when you weigh up how valuable an angling club would be making sure this never happened.

So fellow anglers, a disaster you all could have saved from happening should the estate have not prohibited fishing some years ago. I say a pat on the back for Angling Clubs and a truly devastating end to a lot of very historic and healthy fish life.

I’d love to see an angling club take on those lakes and blossom them into the great fisheries they once was. Maybe some of you Carp Anglers could slide a few notes under some doors and make it happen. Because it’s clear a 24 hour ran Carp FIshery would have saved thousands of pounds of fish in both money and weight, along with promoting a once beautifully preserved natural set of lakes.
