কার্তিক ও অগ্রহায়ণ নিয়ে হেমন্ত ঋতু। একসময় কার্তিকে গ্রামাঞ্চলে মানুষের মধ্যে দুর্ভিক্ষ নামত। যার নাম ছিল ‘মঙ্গা কার্তিক’। তাই কবে কার্তিক পেরিয়ে অগ্রহায়ণ আসবে, সে প্রতীক্ষায় প্রান্তিক মানুষের জীবন কাটত। গ্রাম বাংলা থেকে হারিয়ে যাচ্ছে বাঙালির হাজার বছরের পুরোনো ঐতিহ্য ও সবচেয়ে প্রাচীনতম উৎসব নবান্ন।

বাংলার ঐতিহ্য সংস্কৃতি ও সভ্যতার অবিচ্ছেদ্য অঙ্গ নবান্ন উৎসব। প্রাচীনকালের সেই নবান্ন উৎসবের আমেজ আজ অনেক কমে গিয়েছে। আজ গ্রামবাংলায় আগের মত বসে না মেলা, হয়না যাত্রাপালা। তবে আমাদের কর্তব্য গ্রাম বাংলার ঐতিহ্য ও সভ্যতাকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখা। আরো মানুষের কাছে আমাদের সংস্কৃতিকে পৌঁছে দেওয়া।

Hemanta season with Kartika and Agrahayana. Once upon a time there was a famine in the Kartike countryside. whose name was 'Manga Karthik'. So when Agrahayan would come past Karthik, he used to spend the life of marginalized people. The thousand years old tradition of Bengalis and the oldest festival Nabanna is disappearing from rural Bengal.

Navanna festival is an integral part of Bengal's culture and civilization. The flavor of the ancient Nabanna festival has decreased a lot today. Today, there are no fairs or processions in rural Bengal like before. But our duty is to keep alive the tradition and civilization of rural Bengal. Bringing our culture to more people.
