Below is a transcription of this firefighter training video:
So I'm going five times further. If I can go in the center of the stairwell here. So one fist, if I can get two fists in there, that's two and a half for sure. Alright. But for now we're doing inches three quarter. I got one fist all day. What you're gonna do is you're gonna start flaking that very gently so that's not making a pile on in the scenario. We're just gonna walk it up. All right. You're gonna hold that line and you're gonna manage that as it goes. All right. Cause I don't want pile on the ground. I wanna just walk it up and around and only flake as necessary that don't want get caught in a pinch point, see you're already getting piled up there.
You're gonna manage all that as you go. Cause you're by yourself doing this. But you gotta get that in the stairwell there. So don't pull any off your shoulder until you have to. Right. And you're, you're just keeping, you're keeping, walking up and going around.
If you feel that 50 foot coupling in your hand, that means you should be at what floor? You should be the fifth floor.
So if you're at the third floor, and here's the coupling, what you got on the ground?
Pile.
So don't let more flake off your shoulders walk up.
So you never let that go, right? If I let this go, this coupling goes over, that weight of the coupling will suck this whole line down. So we've got to tie this off. We're always gonna tie it off below the coupling.
Alright, see on this side. Right there. Someone got a carabiner?
Yes.
Put the carabiner on the end of that.
You wrap it over this side. Hook it back to itself, and you're done
That's it. Tie if off, ready charge, right? Don't call for water though until you have this flaked out how you like it. So we would be setting this, the floor below the fire. We have the landing here. This is all we have. We're gonna have to build some loops. Am I right? But don't forget, you can go onto the floor below itself. So let's flake this hose out onto the floor below.
Use all the real estate you have. We're able to get to the fifth floor with 50 feet. We got the extra 50 feet to make the fire floor. We attach our additional pack to make fire fight.
