About Florian Kaiser

Florian Kaiser, freelance architect BDA (born 1987 in Biberach a. d. Riß), studied architecture at the University of Stuttgart and completed his diploma there in 2012 with several awards. During his studies, he collaborated in various offices in Stuttgart, London, and Beijing. After the diploma, he worked at Herzog & de Meuron in Basel. In 2017, together with Guobin Shen, he founded the architectural office “Atelier Kaiser Shen.” Their works have been awarded with various prizes, including the first prize at the “Houses of the Year 2023” Award (German Architecture Museum and Callwey Publishing House), a distinction at the AR House Award 2024 (Architectural Review, London), and the special prize at the Häuser Award 2024 (Federal Foundation for Building Culture). In 2022, the first solo exhibition took place under the title “Unfinished Houses” at the Architektur Galerie am Weißenhof. In 2024, he was appointed to the tenure-track professorship “Circular Timber Construction” at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
