শনিবার রাতে আনাদোলু এজেন্সিকে স্থানীয় কর্মীরা জানান, শুক্রবার সকাল থেকেই হেবরনের পুরোনো শহরের বিভিন্ন এলাকায় কারফিউ চলছে। হেবরন ডিফেন্স কমিটির সদস্য আরেফ জাবের বলেন, ইসরায়েলি সেনারা পুরোনো শহরের সব প্রবেশদ্বার, চেকপয়েন্ট বন্ধ করে দিয়েছে। সাধারণ মানুষের যাতায়াত পুরোপুরি নিষিদ্ধ। অনেক ফিলিস্তিনি বাসিন্দা নিজেদের ঘরে ফিরতেও পারেননি—রাত কাটাতে হয়েছে স্বজনদের বাড়িতে।

শুক্রবার রাত ও শনিবার সকাল—দুই দফায় শত শত অবৈধ বসতি স্থাপক সেনাদের কঠোর নিরাপত্তা বেষ্টনী নিয়ে পুরোনো শহরে ঢুকে ‘উসকানিমূলক’ শোভাযাত্রা করেছে। স্থানীয়দের অভিযোগ, এই কারফিউ আসলে ইব্রাহিমি মসজিদের মুসলিম অংশটুকু পুরোপুরি দখলেরই দীর্ঘমেয়াদি পরিকল্পনার অংশ।

Tensions have flared up again in Hebron, in the occupied West Bank of Palestine. Israeli authorities have completely closed one of the holiest sites for Muslims—the Ibrahimi Mosque—and imposed a strict curfew across the Old City. All this has been done to allow illegal settlers to celebrate Jewish religious festivals without hindrance.

Local activists told Anadolu Agency on Saturday night that a curfew has been in effect in various areas of Hebron's Old City since Friday morning. Aref Jaber, a member of the Hebron Defense Committee, said that Israeli soldiers have closed all entrances and checkpoints to the Old City. The movement of ordinary people is completely prohibited. Many Palestinian residents have not been able to return to their homes—they have had to spend the night with relatives.

On Friday night and Saturday morning—hundreds of illegal settlers entered the Old City under heavy military security and held a "provocative" procession. Locals allege that this curfew is actually part of a long-term plan to completely occupy the Muslim part of the Ibrahimi Mosque.
