I explored a township within the Accra region of Ghana called Ashaiman. Its an interesting area to visit as there is such a big contrast between Ashaiman and the main parts of Accra and Tema.
In this part of Ghana, most of the people who live here have grown up here and hence have been living here for years. They still have a chief and a shrine where they practice the traditional culture. It was originally occupied by the Ga people but now there are several people who have migrated from other parts of Ghana to this side of town. This area is a high crime area but things have changed a little bit in recent times.
