Ingredients:
1 cup (228 g) of all purpose flour
1 tablespoon of semolina (sooji)
1/2 teaspoon of instant yeast
4 tablespoons of plain yogurt
Pinch of orange food colour
For the sugar syrup:
2 cups of granulated sugar
2 cups of water
Few green cardamom
Preparation
In a bowl mix in flour, semolina, instant yeast, food colour and plain yogurt add water to make a thick batter cover and let sit at room temperature for 6 - 8 hours. In a saucepan bring together sugar, water, and cardamom to a boil for 10 minutes remove from heat and set aside. Heat oil in a large pan, fill the batter in a pastry bag or a ketchup bottle and start shaping the Jalebi let fry for 2 -3 minutes flip them in between remove and dip in the sugar syrup for half minute remove and set them on a cookie rack to let excess syrup drop.
