I tested oiling out on multiple variables to see when the most beading up occurs. I used Natural Pigments Lead white, Micheal Harding burnt umber and Natural Pigments ultramarine blue.
Summary: The ones with issues are where burnt umber and white are mixed together.
Fussiness did not see to be too much of a factor, but did increase the resistance for the ones that did already have an issue.
Having a less absorbent surface did not change this factor.
Is there a thing that occurs when lead white is mixed with other pigments?
