So I broke my Pull cord earlier this weekend on my #stihl #ms462 #elastostart and after replacing it with the new cord I realized it was really loose , forgetting my basic chainsaw repairing skills I decided to try and “google it” and realized there is no simple quick instructional videos on how!
This works with every spring assisted pull cord assembly stihl has not just this saw so it may work for you too!
Simply take off the assembly pull the cord to its max length then turn the spring assembly to the right making sure the rope does not coil backwards (if it does just unwind the coiled rope before letting go of the spring assembly) that should do it!
