"Traitor", prior to becoming the fourth single, landed at number nine on the Hot 100 as the fourth top-10 song from the album. Sour was one of the best-selling albums of 2021. To support it, Rodrigo is scheduled to embark on the Sour Tour, commencing in April 2022.

Billboard and Rolling Stone named Sour the best album of 2021. At the 64th Annual Grammy Awards, the album received nominations for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album, while "Drivers License" contends for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance. Rodrigo is further nominated for Best New Artist.
