(Reporter: You and Ryan have worked together for such a long time and have that beautiful collaboration. I'm so curious, for you as a director, have you found that person for you that you know that you'll always work with and that's you're go-to actor?")
"That's a great question. I think that the actors that I had the opportunity to direct definitely have a special bond and a special dynamic. Maybe it's too early to say that, but I definitely have actors that I want to continue to work with and build with. You know, it's a long journey, it' a long road, and you never know what project is going to come up that you might need somebody that you already have a shorthand with. So, yeah."

"Yes, it means so much. I mean, I think anytime, you know, he and I have been friends and collaborators on and off for a decade, and you see someone change and grow so much. And I think any time you see somebody that you love step more into who they are and further into their like authentic selves, and particularly when that is expressed in work, is really just such a gorgeous thing to watch. And I feel like I could always sense that in him, you now, when we made the first 'Creed.' He was like the one that knew, he was like, we're gonna be making more of these. Like he really thinks big and is a born entrepreneur and also just an astounding creative. So, the fact that he gets to sort of meld those things that are very natural to him is so exciting."
(Reporter: "It's like any time you see your friends win.")
"The truth is, even if I wasn't his friend and hadn't worked with him, him winning would feel like a win for me and it is because he's really interested in community and in particular, I think as a young Black man, he's so interested in us and having opportunity. He was one of the first people really to really put his money where his mouth is in terms of inclusion inside of sets. He cares so much about what the industry looks like. So. Honestly, I think he's one of those rare people when he wins we all win."

"A - you want to work on something that you care about. And then B, that you get to work on it with people that you actually enjoy. Like that sounds crazy that that's a request. And so the fact that it gets to carry over to this week and to being able to be here and celebrate Michael tonight, it just, yeah. I wouldn't have it any other way."
