California's Pacific Coast Highway Vibes

Описание: Join me on a trip up California's storied Route 1.

I'm on the Pacific Coast Highway continuing the Mega Road Trip from Death Valley all the way to the Redwood Forests.

My final destination for this trip is Wisconsin.

But I am taking my time, traveling low and slow.

First of all I have weather to consider.

Second of all it's hard not to appreciate the natural beauty of the Pacific Coast.

At a campsite along the coast in Ventura, California I decided to call this video 'Perfect Pacific Vibe' .

If you're been following this channel you know that the Mega Road Trip began in the California deserts by Imperial.

Then continued through the mountains east of San Diego. On into San Diego and finally to Los Angeles.

My objective for that episode "Mega Roadtrip California" was the Missions where Mountain Man Jedediah Smith was detained back in the 1820's.

Once I got to Los Angeles I wanted to see the Mission at San Gabriel where Smith was also detained and where he and his men received help after traversing the Mojave Desert in their quest to find a southern route to California..

'Perfect Pacfic Vibe' picks up the trail first at Death Valley all the way through Smith's actual southern route through Walker Pass and the Kern River Valley.

My trail reached the coast South of San Luis Obispo at Ventura.

On this portion of the trip I had a really good time shooting video, especially of beaches.

Furthermore I enjoyed the little county campgrounds through this area, especially one along the coast in Ventura.

Every now and then people tell me they think I am crazy for wanting to even come to California.

However it's important to point out California's singular association with opportunity dating back to the old Spanish and Mexican days and then through the Gold Rush.

Certainly in the late 1800's Calfornia's history includes a healthy fishing and shipping industry, farming and mining. Later manufacturing and aerospace, Hollywood, and these days Tech.

California is still the land of opportunity.

It's just that some people don't fully grasp that concept.

Yeah, Cali is weird.

But who cares.

The rest of the trip included stays at a number of beaches as well as a visit to the stories Big Sur restaurant 'Nepenthe' and Carmel Beach, San Francisco, the John Muir National Forest, Monterey, and of course Santa Cruz.

In addition there were also visits to Half Moon Bay, Bodega Bay and many other beach towns along the way.

One of the things I learned is there is a limit to what you can capture when it comes to the sheer beauty of some of these California locations.

At some point one has to remind themselves to put the camera down and enjoy the view, because it will never be completely captured by the camera.

I am grateful and so lucky to be able to live life on the road.

There's no schedule other than what I impose on myself.

So there is time to explore and experience.

People often ask me what life on the road is like.

Answering that question is part of the reason for the existence of this YouTube channel.

My creative mission is to show you what life is like on the road as a nomad by showing you.

These aren't necessarily travelogues as they are an effort to capture the vibe of the experience.

And as I continue the trip this series of videos will continue.
