Hello and welcome to our A1 Parents session! In this video, you’ll get all the essential information to help your young person get started at BHASVIC. Hear from our Principal, William Baldwin, and other key members of our senior team, including Mark Monahan, Alison Cousens, and James Moncrieff. 📚 Support for Students:

*Student Services: *Led by *Alison Cousens*, our Student Services team provides essential support, including guidance managers who oversee pastoral care and help with course changes, timetabling, and more.
Tutorial System: Weekly 45-minute group sessions and one-on-one follow-ups to help students manage their time and studies effectively.
Personal Development: Sessions organized by our Events Enrichment team to help students balance academic work with personal growth and well-being.

🎓 Teaching and Learning:

Curriculum: James Moncrieff explains the differences between sixth form and school, emphasizing the importance of attendance, managing study time, and seeking help when needed.
Independent Study: Students are encouraged to use their free periods for homework and independent study, aiming for at least 13.5 hours of study outside of lessons each week.
*Flipped Learning: *A teaching approach where students do initial learning independently and use class time for deeper exploration and application of knowledge.

💻 Technology at BHASVIC:

Microsoft Teams: The main tool for accessing learning materials, communicating with teachers, and submitting assignments.
*SharePoint: *A resource hub for subject-specific materials, organized by year group.
My BHASVIC App: A launchpad for accessing SharePoint, Cedar, timetables, and important notifications.
