This video will demonstrate the use of triggering to make a stable display of a measurement.
This measured signal appears unstable.
Let's select pre samples to view part of the signal before the trigger moment.
Switch the "time is zero marker" on to know the exact trigger moment.
Adjusting trigger level using the trigger symbol does not solve the jittering.
The signal is jittering because it has multiple places where it complies with the trigger conditions.
The high frequency component of our signal is larger than the trigger hysteresis,
causing multiple trigger moments within one cycle of the total signal.
Increase the trigger hysteresis by dragging the lower edge of the trigger symbol.
The measurement is now stable.
Double click the slider to view the total measurement.
To set the trigger level back to 0 Volt, right click the trigger symbol.
Select "trigger level" "user defined" and enter 0 Volt.
