Russia's lower house of parliament approved bill enabling President Putin to run for two more terms

Russia's lower house of parliament approved a bill that will allow President Vladimir Putin to run for two more terms.
The bill, approved in the State Duma's third or final reading, stipulates that the limit of two presidential terms applies to the incumbent head of state or those who have already served as the president for two terms,... meaning that one cannot hold office for three or more terms.
However, the bill also states that it does not take into account previous terms that an incumbent President has served before a constitutional amendment took effect last year.
The move enables Putin the chance to restart his presidency in 2024 and hold office until 2036.
In order for the bill to be put into law, it has to be passed by the upper house of parliament,... the Federation Council and then signed by Putin.
