In this bonus episode of The Anmore Way, we continue working with Joker Caledonia, developing the next layer of lateral understanding through in-hand exercises. Building on the concept of “riding from the ground,” Lisa introduces turning on a square, clearer control of the hind legs, and further leg yield work.
These sessions refine balance, coordination, and responsiveness, encouraging Joker to step under, organise his body, and remain attentive to subtle direction. Each exercise mirrors what will later be asked under saddle, allowing the horse to recognise the feeling before it is introduced in ridden work.
It is a continuation of the steady preparation that underpins the programme — thoughtful groundwork shaping confident, capable horses before their ridden careers begin in earnest.
