Cheap factory grease makes polishers louder, shakier and more prone to breaking down. This is all too common with more entry level tools like this Harbor Freight Bauer DA, so I like to recommend replacing that factory grease with a premium lithium grease.
Installing a premium lithium grease will reduce both the noise and vibration and probably also increase the tools work life expectancy.
Here is a step-by-step guide to replacing the grease in a polisher.
Step 1: Remove the Backing Plate
Step 2: Remove Plastic Cover Using a Flat Edge Screwdriver
Step 3: Remove The Counterweight Using A Phillips Head Screwdriver
Step 4: Remove The Rotating Assembly
Step 5: Remove The Housing
Step 6: Remove the Gear Housing
Step 7: Remove the Factory Grease
Step 8: Replace with Lithium Grease
Step 9: Reassemble the Tool
Step 10: Test the Polisher
The polisher should be noticeably quieter and with less vibration, too.
