Ah yes, the legendary DoBell Ranch—where you can pay to dig for petrified wood like a paleontologist on a Jurassic Park expedition, but without the risk of being chased by a T-Rex. It's one of the best spots in the world for this kind of fossil hunt, at least in my completely unbiased and totally fossil-loving opinion.
Now, here's the fun part: the ranch shares a fence with the Petrified Forest National Park. So, if you’re touring the park and feel an irresistible urge to pocket some ancient wood (but don’t want to end up on a wanted poster), just mosey on over to DoBell. There, you can collect all the stunning petrified wood your heart desires—legally!
