Rank confusion at the AIIMS Trauma Centre morgue in Delhi led to Anjum B’s body being switched with that of Kusum Lata; within hours, Anjum’s body was cremated instead of buried. When the swap was discovered, Kusum Lata’s relatives saved her body from being buried in the nick of time. This is the second such case of two Covid bodies being mixed up. The first case took place last month in the Maulana Azad Medical College mortuary.
